Fourteen small things I learned
20 January 2017 · web
A list, because it is January and I have time, the snow is deep, the bus is late.
- The client's "small change" is never small.
- A photograph by the owner's nephew is a photograph by the owner's nephew. Try gently.
- Always ask who will write the texts, before the price.
- Empty page "Coming soon" is worse than no page.
- A fancy animation is not a replacement for a clear menu.
- The best backup is the second hard disk in another house.
- Write the phone number as a link, people tap with a thumb.
- Before you blame the server, restart your own router.
- No flashing banners. The 2000s have ended. Let it go.
- Test with an old phone. If it works on an old phone it works everywhere.
- Do not use the word "synergy" with the owner of a tea shop.
- The customer who pays slowly is not always the customer who is poor.
- Learn to say "I don't know, I will find out".
- Drink water, go home on time, close the laptop.
I follow only numbers 1, 6, 7, 8 and 10.
