About

My father, Mamat Tologonovich Esenaliev, born 1952, keeps about sixty hives in the foothills above Kara-Buura. His father kept bees, and his grandfather. In winter he is a retired mechanic of the district road service (31 years), and in summer he is a beekeeper and nothing else.

I am his daughter Gulnaz. He tells me his words, I type, and I correct the grammar and he complains. The blog name "Baldar" is a joke of his: in Iradi bal is honey, and baldar is "children". He says the bees are his children and they sting like children too.

Honey for sale, in jars and in the comb, at the Kyzyl-Adyr bazaar on Saturdays. Orders in Talas by arrangement. Please ask first; we do not post.
