Viktor Pavlovich Kim, born 1949 on a kolkhoz on the lower Chu, agronomist of rice for thirty-eight years, retired. My children are abroad and my grandchildren speak three languages and not one of them is Korean.
I am writing the family down, so that someone will know it. Scanned photographs, recipes, dates and stories as my mother told them to me. My daughter Vika corrects my English; the mistakes that remain are mine.
No relation to Director Kim of the Kobozev tractor works, though in Kobozev they always ask. No relation to Bar Kim in the Old City either, but I have been told the karaoke is good.
