Three Kids and a Kettle

Winter list

The winter list on the fridge door, in my handwriting.

Every November I write a list on a piece of paper and hang it on the fridge: coal 2 tons, potatoes 60 kg, onions 20 kg, jam from my mother-in-law, felt boots for Eldiyar, a new winter coat for Aruuke (the old one is already Eldiyar's old one, and he was a boy, but she doesn't care, it is blue).

Dastan reads the list every evening and says "we will manage". We always manage. It is only that nobody writes down how.
